Nain is fairly new to the world of carpets, and yet has climbed to the top of the scale of excellence. The city made fabric for men's robes until wartime changed fashions, and they were suddenly out of business! So they switched to carpet weaving! Nearly all their rugs are beige and blue, with a few reds, oranges and yellows. The blues, or other main colours, are outlined in white silk, and vary from sky to midnight. One of the most beautiful yet seen was a 10' square rug, beige with a breath-taking circle of highly decorated turquoise in the middle!
